I'm coming up on the 40,000 kilometer mark with my 2021 Gladiator and I've been getting quotes from various workshops around Abu Dhabi for the upcoming major service, which apparently involves a bunch of stuff like diff oil changes, transfer case fluid, transmission service, and a full inspection of the suspension components. The prices I'm getting are all over the place – some places are quoting around 1,200 dirhams while others are closer to 2,500 for what seems like the same work – and I'm trying to figure out if I'd be better off just paying as I go or signing up for a prepaid package that covers multiple services. The dealership offered me a three-year package that works out to about 1,800 per service on average, but I'm not sure if that's actually a good deal or if they're just locking me in at a premium price. I've also heard that some of the independent shops in the industrial areas offer really competitive rates, especially if you commit to a package rather than single visits. I work in ICAD so it would be super convenient to find something nearby that I can just drop the truck off at during the day and pick up after work. A colleague actually mentioned a place that does a Reliable Jeep Service Package in ICAD and said they've been using them for years without any issues, but I'm always a bit skeptical about these things because I've been burned before by shops that promise the world and then cut corners. The thing that's really making me think about a package is the peace of mind of having everything scheduled and documented, especially if I ever decide to sell the truck because a full service history definitely adds value. But at the same time, I hate the idea of paying for something upfront and then feeling locked in if the service quality turns out to be mediocre. Has anyone here actually done the math on these service packages and found them to be worth it, or do you think it's better to just shop around each time and negotiate the best price? I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from people who've been through this before because I need to make a decision pretty soon and I don't want to regret it later.
