So my 2015 Charger R/T has been my daily for three years now and I've put up with a lot of little Dodge quirks because honestly that HEMI rumble makes me smile every time I start it up, but about a month ago the five speed automatic started doing this thing where it'll pause for a good two seconds when I'm trying to merge onto the E311 before it finally decides to downshift and then when it does it slams into gear hard enough that my passenger asked if I hit something, and now I'm at that point where I'm driving with the paddles exclusively just to avoid the embarrassment of my car having an existential crisis in traffic. I took it to a shop in Industrial Area that a guy at work recommended and they told me the transmission fluid looked "old but okay" and they topped it off and sent me on my way but the hesitation is still there and now there's a slight whine in third gear that I definitely didn't have before. I've been reading the Charger forums and a lot of people say the Nag1 transmission is pretty stout but the conductor plate and the valve body can cause these exact symptoms when the solenoids start to wear out and if you catch it early it might just be a service and a new conductor plate rather than a full rebuild. I really don't want to take it to the dealer because the last time I went there for a simple sensor they had my car for four days and charged me more than my monthly rent, so I've been searching for Dodge Automatic Gearbox Repair Sharjah in the hopes that there's a specialist on this side of town who actually knows the Nag1 and won't just throw parts at it until something sticks. Anyone here had a similar issue with their Charger or Challenger fixed in Sharjah without having to sell a kidney to pay for it.
